START AS YOU MEAN TO GO ON.
A little breathing room goes a long way. Give yourself time to get ready, have a drink, put some music on + actually enjoy it.
FIND THE LIGHT
Big windows + natural light are always a win. Not because we’re creating a photoshoot — everything just looks bloody lovely in good light.
EMBRACE A LITTLE MESS
Bags, pastries, champagne, someone looking for a missing earring , it’s all part of it. Just keep one little corner near the best light relatively clear and we’re golden.
DON’T PLAN EVERY SECOND
The good stuff happens in the gaps. Mum appearing at the door. Your best friend suddenly crying. Someone pouring champagne suspiciously early.
Leave a little room for it.
MAKE IT YOURS
Good coffee. Good music. Your favourite people. Champagne before noon if that’s your thing.
Forget creating the perfect wedding morning.
Just have a bloody good one.
The Ceremony – Your Moment
THIS IS THE ACTUAL GETTING MARRIED BIT.
TAKE YOUR TIME
Don’t rush the walk. Look around. Take in the faces + let yourself have the moment.
LOOK AT EACH OTHER
Nerves are normal. Forget the cameras, forget everyone watching and look at the person you’re actually here for.
PHONES DOWN
If you want an unplugged ceremony, ask whoever’s leading it to make a quick announcement beforehand. Less screens. More faces. Much better.
And whatever happens, tears, laughter, forgotten words, rings that refuse to go on...
Let it happen. That’s the good stuff.
After the “I Do’s” – The Happy Chaos
RIGHT. YOU DID IT.
This bit is brilliant. Hugs, tears, champagne, everyone wanting a piece of you.
SOAK IT UP
Don’t rush onto the next thing. Hug your people, grab a drink + enjoy the fact you just got married.
STEAL FIVE MINUTES
Before the day runs away with you, disappear together for five minutes. No photoshoot. No agenda. Just a tiny holy shit, we’re married moment.
THE FAMILY PHOTOS
Keep the list short + nominate someone who knows everyone to help round people up. We’ll get them done, keep the family happy + get you straight back to the champagne.
THEN GO ENJOY YOUR WEDDING.
The Reception — Time to Enjoy It
THE GOOD BIT
YOU’VE PLANNED IT. NOW GO LIVE IT.
The hard work’s done. Your favourite people are all in one place. Make the most of it.
TRUST YOUR PEOPLE
You picked your suppliers for a reason. Let us worry about timings, tables + whatever’s happening behind the scenes. You’ve got better things to do.
SET THE MOOD
Candles, low light, good music. As the light disappears, let things get a little moodier.
It looks bloody good too.
BE IN IT
Eat the food. Drink the wine. Talk too much. Laugh loudly. Forget what time it is.
The less you worry about what’s next, the better this bit gets.
AFTER DARK
THIS IS WHERE THINGS GET INTERESTING.
The timeline loosens up, the drinks are flowing + some of my favourite photographs start happening.
CHASE THE LIGHT
If the light’s doing something ridiculous, I might steal you away for ten minutes.
No epic hike. No hour-long photoshoot. Just you two + some very good light.
Then straight back to the party.
AFTER DARK
Once the sun’s gone, things get a little moodier. We might sneak out for a few flash portraits , cool, quick + slightly unexpected.
Bonus points for a second outfit.
THEN LET IT GET MESSY
Shoes off. Ties gone. Questionable dance moves. Someone’s aunt requesting ABBA. Your best friend suddenly on someone’s shoulders. Forget perfect.
THIS IS THE AFTER PARTY. ACT ACCORDINGLY.
